This is a translation of the Dutch privacy statement. If the two differ, the Dutch version applies.
Who we are

Cookies
This website uses no cookies: no functional cookies, no analytics cookies and no tracking or advertising cookies. Nor do we store anything in your browser in any other way. The site loads nothing from third parties, so there are no fonts, scripts, maps, videos or statistics services that could do so either. That is why we never ask for your consent.
When you visit the website
Like every web server, our server keeps a log of incoming requests: your IP address, the time, the page requested, the page you came from and the type of browser. We use this only to detect faults and misuse. That is our legitimate interest in a secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not use it to compile visitor statistics or profiles.
These log files are deleted automatically after five weeks at most.
When you use the contact form
If you send us a message through the contact form, we process:
- your name and email address;
- your organisation, if you fill it in;
- the subject and your message;
- the time and the IP address from which you sent the message.
We use this data to answer your question and, if you request an account or an integration, to arrange this with you. We use the IP address only to prevent misuse of the form. We process this data because you yourself ask us to respond (legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, in the case of a request, to prepare an agreement (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Your message arrives as an email in our Microsoft 365 mailbox. The website also keeps a copy on our own server, so that nothing is lost if an email does not arrive.
- The copy on our server is deleted automatically twelve months after the end of the month in which you sent the message.
- The email is kept for as long as necessary to deal with your question and for any further contact with you or your organisation. If you would like us to delete it sooner, let us know.
To protect against spam, the form uses a verification image that is generated on our own server, without cookies, JavaScript or third-party services. To prevent the form from being used for sending messages in bulk, we keep track, for no longer than one hour, of how many messages have been sent from a connection. For this we do not store your IP address itself, but a hash of it.
Who we share data with
Microsoft processes your message on our behalf, because our mailbox is hosted on Microsoft 365. Apart from that, we do not share your data with anyone, unless the law requires us to. We do not sell data, show advertisements or use analytics.
Your rights
You can ask us for access to the data we hold about you, and ask us to correct, delete or transfer it. You can also object to the processing or ask us to restrict it. To do so, email info@wwwveilig.nl. We will respond within one month.
If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens), or with the data protection authority in the country where you live.
Security
The website can only be reached over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Messages from the contact form are stored on a server that only our administrators can access.
The WWWveilig apps
This statement only covers the website wwwveilig.nl. The WWWveilig 2FA app has its own privacy statement.
Changes
If we change this statement, you will see this from the date at the top of this page.
